Understanding Racial Trauma: A Two-Part Workshop

Fee: $2,500

Racism and its intersections with other forms of oppression can “shatter the I and we of us,” leaving wounds that persist across generations. The resulting mental and emotional injuries are known as racial trauma and are commonplace in communities with entrenched caste systems. This workshop will enhance participants’ understanding of the destructive effects that institutional, individual and internalized racism have on Black Indigenous People of Color. It will also explore practices that help to heal the compounded traumas that these communities live with in US society.
