Karen Banks, RYT 500, began her yoga journey after decades of dance training when she was seeking a different form of movement. Karen appreciated the mind-body connection with her background as a mental health therapist. Karen completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training at West-East Yoga in 2016. She traveled to Rishikesh, India in 2018 to complete her 300 hour training. She is the owner of Health and Wellness Arts where she offers yoga, Reiki, wellness coaching, and more.
Karen believes yoga is for every person regardless of their age, body size, type, background, or ability. She encourages all her students to connect with their breath and body and her classes often have a mental health and wellness theme.
Karen regularly teaches classes throughout St. Louis as well as offers private lessons. Her classes include All Levels, Power Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Slow Flow Yoga, chair yoga for those using wheelchairs, and Meditation. When she is not doing yoga she can be found growing her counseling practice Trinity Wellness, digging in her garden, or caring for her yorkie Squeak.
