Session Leader(s):
In times of communal crisis, the Black Healers Collective (BHC) holds a ceremonial gathering space to grieve and heal the burdens of collective trauma. These half-day gatherings usually follow experiences of community harm that could benefit from facilitated healing processes and publicly held rituals. Community Healing Days invite individuals, families and community members to engage the painful parts of their experiences, which include grieving what hurts, raging at that which offends, and connecting to positive resources that encourage healing together. In these offerings, the BHC not only acknowledges the presence of human suffering, but also honors the community’s collective capacity to endure and eventually recover, and helps connect to sources of meaning and strength.
